SSAEAC denies split of Association, expels 10 exco members.

President General flanked on the left by General Secretary.
The Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) said in Lagos that the body has not  divided in to two as claim by ten of the expelled members of the executive council.
Addressing members of the press in Lagos at an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of the Association, flanked by his members, the President General, Engineer Chris Okonkwo said those claiming to have formed a parallel Association are disgruntled fellows in the executive who are bringing the ‘problems of Nigeria’ into the Association, as if they are in a political party.
He accused them of allowing the former Managing Director of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to use them in order to cause problems in the Association having failed to remove him from office.  Engineer Okonkwo said all their allegations against him that he was corrupt, and not following the construction were lies.
According to him the crux of the matter, was the decision to have the 2022 delegates conference of the Association shifted to Abuja as against Kano, due to security reasons. He said the people comprising two Deputy Presidents, Comrades Musa Gambo and Nasir Dembo however refused, instead resulting into the breach of the Constitution, purporting to remove him the President General from office.
He said all their actions so far breach the Constitution of the association.
At the end of the National Executive Committee of the Association, the following resolutions were adopted.
Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) remains one and undivided. That the illegal meetings held by Comrades Musa Gambo and Nasir Dembo, deputy Presidents were unfortunate.
That NEC reminisced on need for discipline and order in a Labour union and endorsed steps so far taken to allow for reconciliation.  NEC upheld the indefinite suspension imposed on the offending 10 NEC members by the tribunal and thereby expelled them
NEC stated that it was unfortunate that the 10 suspended NEC members would declare a purported impeachment not known to our constitution of the president general .   It reaffirmed its faith and trust in the leadership of the Pr esident General, Engineer Chris Okonkwo who has served the Association with enormous sacrifice at personal risk.
NEC empowered  him to continue to pursue and do all that was necessary to get all dues of SSAEC.
