The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, in charge of Police zonal headquarters of Lagos and Ogun State has begun face lift of the police command. The zone 2 police command Onikan is wearing a new and befitting face. AIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, is from Agege Community, in Lagos State.
Prior to this recent development, rumours had it that the Nigeria police force and the two state governments of Lagos and Ogun State could not do otherwise as there is no space to build a befitting police command as some police officers transfered had no offices to perform their official duty.
The son of the soil, Kokumo then ordered for the renovation of the police command. The gate structure design has continued to attract more and more attention from both the government and private sectors with commendation kudos coming from stakeholders, journalists, friends and well wishers who came to the almost forgotten place.
There are now more offices to accommodate departments like anti-pricacy team, anti-vandalisation, anti-car theft and host of others.
A reliable source told CITY EXPRESS NEWS that AIG Kokumo is using his personal money. The foot print of AIG Kokumo is still visible in Edo State when he served as police commissioner.
CITY EXPRESS NEWS gathered that AIG Kokumo said the challenges were too much for him to watch visitors stand without enough chairs, and space.
He therefore decided to take the ‘bull by the horn’, to embark on renovation and aggressive development. According to the source, Kokumo said since it was God’s will for him to be posted to the zone, he will empower him to do the needful in transforming the zone.
He said God made him a leader and good leaders must lead by example. ” I want to make sure zone 2 become Dubai palace of Africa, so fulfilment is way ahead”.
