Chief Friday Ibadin, a retired commissioner of police is a man of honour, who has distinguished himself in many areas of life, this he proved as Commissioner of Police, as a Barrister and among humanity. It is therefore not a surprise that he was honoured with two titles within a week by two different Kings in Esan land, Edo state.
He has for many years distinguished himself in various careers bringing with him a wealth of experience in Nigeria police force, his legal luminary professionalism, and humanitarian gestures. He was first honoured with chieftaincy title by King Anslem Okojie Aidenojie of Uromi kingdom. For Ibadin, this was much appreciated but he did not know a bigger recognition was in the offing.
On 25th December 2021, a week interval after Onojie of Uromi bestowed him a Chieftancy title, the overall and the head of Kings of Esan land, Okaijesan of Esan land, Onojie of Irrua kingdom decorated him with another chieftancy title alongside his beautiful wife, Chief Mrs Ibadin.
Reacting to the titles, he said I am here to contribute my quota and serve my people as desire by my two royal fathers. He told Okaijesan of Esan land that he would not disappoint him and would work towards making the kingdom great.

Chief (Retired police Commissioner) Ibadin is of a humble background in Uromi of Edo State. He joined the Nigeria police force in 1983 from the scratch and reached the pinnacle of his career as a Commissioner of Police, leaving a good legacy, a good foot print, a record which Nigerians will ever remember him for.

Not forgotten his antecedent as Officer in Charge of Anti pipeline vandalisation team in the country, a team set up by former president Goodluck Jonathan and guided by Inspector General of Police IGP MD Abubakar(rtd). CP Ibadin served in Ogun State, Enugu, Calabar, Edo State, Lagos State, Force headquarters Abuja and Airport police command, Lagos.
Chief Ibadin is a wonderful and amazing leader. He was at Cairo, Egypt,a member of the African Center for Crime prevention and research studies
He was also trained at Anti-terrorism police Academy in Cairo, Egypt. He served in United Nations as Regional Officer in Charge of Operation, in Metrovical Region of Kosovo.
CP Ibadin holds degrees in philosophy and law. He is a member of Nigeria Bar Association(NBA).
The event of 25th December 2021 witnessed an unprecedented crowd of enthusiasts Irrua people and their friends. No living Citizen of Esan land, young or old could boast of having witnessed such a mammoth crowd in the annals of Irrua which was an impeccable manifestation of God. Currently Chief Friday Ibadin is the president of Edo Unity Forum quietly making case for Edo Central person to become Governor of Edo State.
City EXPRESS NEWS understands that Barrister Ibadin is ready to do everything in his capacity to make that dream come true. It is his prayer that God will give Governor Godwin Obaseki the capacity to grant the wishes of the Esan people. According to Chief Ibadin, its time the people of Esan are given equal treatment in Edo State.
