Embattled former commander of the Nigeria police force intelligence response team (IRT) Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari resurfaced in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, at the wedding of Maina Alkali, the son of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman.
The super cop Abba Kyari was seen in company of money bag carrier and popular socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu Obi, better known as Obi Cubana, at the wedding which took place at the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi of Borno.

Recall that he was suspended on July 31st 2021, due to alleged involvement with fraudster, Ramon Abass, alias Hushpuppi and his subsequent indictment by the United States of America,s Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI).
The office of Police service commission has directed the Inspector General of Police to furnish it with their investigation. It was last month the IGP investigating panel led by Deputy Inspector General of the force criminal investigation department submitted its report.
According to the report submitted to the police service commission, Abba Kyari was exonorated, that means the great crime burster and award winning officer has no case to answer, though the police service commission has categorically told the IGP panel that it was not satisfied with the report presented to it.
According to reliable sources close to the panel that investigated Kyari, he denied every allegation and offence. When our correspondent at Maiduguri asked Abba Kyari, why he has been hidening, he simply said, ” No, I never go into hiding because I am innocent of the allegations, the suspension only made me to have full time rest, relax and read newspapers and also guide my officers who believe in me.
” As for me, I will be back better and stronger with the rank of Commissioner of Police, he concluded. There is information from the police service commission, Abuja that there are loopholes in the investigation submitted by the Deputy Inspector General of police.
City EXPRESS NEWS gathered that retired Inspector General of Police Musiliu Smith, who is the Chairman of Police service commission is on vacation in Lagos.
