Nigerian Olympic gold medalist at the Atlanta 1995 Olympic games, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Chioma Ajuwan Opara is widely regarded as one of the best Nigerian athletes of her generation. Golden girl as she is popularly called began her starting career in Imo state. The rising and embodiment of greatness of Chioma Ajuwan was not a surprise because she was prophetically described by Mr. Larry Eze, the former proprietor of Larry Angels, Rivers state based now River Angels, where Chioma was discovered as a female footballer.

In fulfilment of that prophecy in 1989, she is today an Assistant Commissioner of Police and first Nigeria to win a single gold medal at the Olympics games.
The multi-talented made her debut for Nigeria in 1991 world female football championship in China, where she met her soccer loving husband. She is the most successful female footballer and long jumper in the country.
When ACP Chioma Ajuwan Opara joined the Nigeria police force through her sporting antecedent she had a vision of going to the top of her chosen profession. And over the years, she has not lost her focus, but has continued to contribute her humble but very significant quota to nation building using the Nigeria police force as a base.

Today, she has a passion for equity and justice for women and other vulnerable groups as well as youths empowerment and sports development in the country especially athletics sport. She believes in using intelligence to drive the transformation agenda by Inspector General of Police Alkali Baba Usman.

The highly decorated officer has received over 50 awards locally and internationally.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Human Trafficking at the force criminal intelligence and investigation department (FCIID) Alagbon close, Ikoyi, Chioma Ajuwan meant different things to different people. To law abiding citizens, she is a friend, but to human traffickers and criminals, she is a foe as she is determined to ensure that their traces are not found on the soil of the nation.
Following her clean record and her achievements since assumption of office, she is a professional per excellence. The mother of triplets rose to the pinnacle of success by the combination of sheer hard work, humility, honesty, prudence, discipline, integrity, self control and above all the fear of God with Godliness.
Chioma Ajunwa is undoubtedly a household name through her sporting career. She told CITY EXPRESS NEWS in Lagos that her dream is to empower youths and empower them, and also divert their attention from criminal activities, like cultism, robbery and yahoo yahoo.
The philanthropist believes that God will make her dream come to reality. ” I think God is the ultimate, with God all things are possible. I have confidence in my God”. These are her words, and we believe with the way she is going about it, success is staring in her face.
