Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, the number one gladiator of PDP dropped the bombshell during the week in Benin city, Edo state that he is not going to leave PDP for anyone for any reason.
‘I am not detracted by any one who feels he is bigger than PDP in Edo State. I am number one citizen of Edo State , I don’t take instructions from anyone rather you must listen to words of reasons from me being the Governor of Edo State.’
The tough talking Governor told detractors to leave the party if they are not satisfied with his government.
In an exclusive interview with City EXPRESS NEWS in Benin city on Tuesday 8th March 2022, Governor Godwin Obaseki said, ‘I have no room for rumour talks, Edo state is set for council polls as PDP has registered over 539 thousands members. I am waiting for the arrival of the National Chairman of PDP Iyochia Ayu to dialogue with the true PDP members of Edo State. It is going to be a peace, unity and love party with every member in Edo state, as there is no division in Edo State PDP’.
He told CITY EXPRESS NEWS, ‘ I am not an ungrateful person to decamp from PDP. We will always win all elections in the state and country, nothing will stop us as a party.’
Governor Godwin Obaseki is one Nigerian politician who is making his marks in Governance and Leadership. Currently as Governor since 29 May 2015 on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, He has many laurels in his kitty including 2021 leadership award for the best Governor of the year by City EXPRESS NEWS and Vanguard Man of the year and Esan speaking community of Nigeria best Governor of the year 2021 achievers award slated for June during the International Esan day summit.
Following his re-election, his focus has been on industrialization, agriculture, rural and riverine areas development, human capacity development, security, infrastructure, education, small and medium scale enterprises.
His administration has remain on the lips of many Nigerians given his achievements since assuming office.
The National Chairman of PDP Iyochia Ayu has promised to pay courtesy visit to Edo State on Thursday 10th March 2022 in Benin city.
Governor Godwin Obaseki said any member of PDP that is not happy with his government is free to report to the PDP Chairman for dialogue and reconciliation. According to Obaseki, PDP members are fully harmonised and mobilized.
He urged members, and party leaders to bring along five newly registered members to welcome the PDP Chairman on Thursday.
