NRC sets to resume Abuja-Kaduna train services soon.

In an update on the situation of the Abuja- Kaduna standard train service attack by gunmen on 28th March 2022, the Nigeria Railway Corporation says it has successfully connected the  South end train tracks with the North end, and is set to resume services soonest.

The tracks were destroyed as a result of the attack on the AK 9 train service by gunmen.

NRC said personnel of the Technical team are also working towards track stabilization,  clips, bolts, nuts and welding works.

As a result of the attack at least nine lives were lost  in the train carrying 362 people on board,  while  many are still in the custody of the gunmen.
The Nigeria Railway Corporation in a 
statement  from the office of the Managing Director signed on his behalf, by Mr. Niyi Alli , assured that the security of the passengers will not be compromised as additional security measures are being put in place.

Passengers will be required to provide their NIN registration for verification to purchase train tickets for their safety and identification.

On the fate of passengers and staff still in the captive of the gunmen, the Corporation said it is committed to their safety as it will continue to collaborate with security agencies to ensure they are rescued unhurt and reunited with their families soonest.
