The 10th edition of the anual prestigious Vanguard Personality of the year Awards held on Friday May 20th 2022, at the Eko Hotel and Suites,Victoria Island LAGOS has come and gone but the memory of one night of great honour still lingers on with the glitz, glamour, glory and celebration extravaganza of entertainment.
Lagos state stood still for the bold reformist Governor of the year 2021, Governor Godwin Nogbegase Obaseki, Governor of Edo State. The event was loaded with different messages by interest groups.
City EXPRESS NEWS witnessed first of its kind of some interesting paid advert to salute Governor Godwin Obaseki for his exemplary leadership and the courage of his great convictions. The messages go thus:’ “History will regard you kindly for standing for truth when lies,would have been most convenient; for standing on the side of the people, when succmbing to the self catering style of politics would have brought you the “peace of the graveyard”.
“You are a rare breed and a refreshing ray of hope amongst your peers.”

In a chat with City EXPRESS NEWS after receiving the award. He said that since he assumed the exalted office of Governor, I have demstified Governance and entrenched a progressive leadership of infrastructure development accross the length and breadth of our dear Edo state.
My landmark, performance, good governance and achievements are visible to all to see, as I have become a positive reference point for others to emulate.
According to Governor Obaseki, the award as the best Governor of the year is to motivate, encourage him to do more and touch many lives in Edo State.
Another daughter of Edo State and recipient of Vanguard Life time achievement award winner was Bishop Margaret Benson Idahosa.

Her award was in recognition of her passion for humanity, commitment to the expansion of the kingdom of God on earth and serving as a blessing to humanity.
There was musical performance by Wande Coal and others to enlivened the occasion.
