Insecurity poises problems to holding elections. Ambassador Roy Okhidievie.

The question on the lips of many Nigerians is whether the spate of insecurity, killings, kidnapping, banditry and terrorism threats, will make 2023 Election possible?

City Express News crew went to town to find out from security Expert, Ambassador (Dr) Oamien Roy Okhidievbie, a retired military veteran. Today, with almost two decades of experience as a security professional who has worked in both government and private sector.

He told City Express News in his Lagos office that 2023 Election may not take place, if the Government of the day cannot stop insecurity in the country before the election. The banditry, kidnapping, herdsmen attacks, terrorism and senseless killing will not allow election to hold he said.

Speaking on the recent kidnapping of 32 passengers who were waiting to board a train in Edo state, he said “The situation we are getting from infrastructure in Train Transportation system is not good enough for train to function well in Nigeria. “Nigeria’s security infrastructure is below parameter control system. Every terrorists gang wants to attack where we have great crowd. Terrorists want to make name for themselves.

. “It is sad and disheartening to hear that police are doing bush combing, No intelligent gathering to get them arrested. These suspected armed Herdsmen came to Ekekhen – Iguben route to the Train station. According to Roy some military officers and police officers were arrested for unlawful armed ammunition selling to ordinary terrorists, herdsmen and bandits, and charged to court for unlawful possession of fire arms.

Both Judiciaries have questions to answer, “Minister of Transportation supposed to be quizzed and start asking questions why they do not value human lives by allowing Train Transportation without proper security protection for the passengers.

“Shame to our leaders for failing to provide logistic and security equipment to track banditry down.
