A retired Senior Military man, Dr. Ray Okhidivbie says present security arrangements along the railway corridors show that the government and the Nigeria Railway Corporation have not done enough towards prevention of crime and safeguarding of lives. Dr. Ray Okhidivbe who spoke during a live television programme on Arise television based on the recent kidnapping of 32 passengers at a railway station in Igueben local government area of Edo state who were waiting to board the train to Warri in Delta state.
The Security Expert called for the deplorable of CCTV Cameras at the Railway stations and the railway corridors to monitor activities and help towards identification of criminals and their arrests.

He said the government should emulate commercial banks who are using advanced technology to monitor activities within their premises which has helped to arrest and prosecute criminals.
The kidnapped of 32 people at the Edo station came not more than 2months that the suspended Kaduna Abuja train services resumed after being suspended for six months due to the attack of a Kaduna bound train in March 2022 in which several people were killed and many kidnapped. Dr. Okhidivbie called for perimeter fencing of key infrastructure in the country.
