Edo Central Senatorial district PDP candidate, Chief (Dr) Mike Onolemhemen a former Minister of works in President Goodluck Jonathan government, said, he possesses the requisite skills and experience required to harness the vast resources in the state for productive and development purposes and that he is prepared to re-invent Edo Central senatorial district.

He appealed to PDP and other party to give him the ticket to represent Esan at the National Assembly. According to him, I remains the youngest, experience and most competence among others candidate who have shown interest in Edo Central Senatorial district.

My modernize package for Edo Central Senatorial agenda will take entire Edo State into greater prosperity. “My long time slogan or mantra as you call it modernizes structure that is a product of development, thinking that seeks to leapfrog Edo central senatorial district into an industrial revolution. My message is simple and that has been what I have been propagating and campaigning this far, vote for me vote for progress, good security and prosperity in Esan land and Edo State.

The former minister of works during president Goodluck Jonathan 4 years term, who is the godson of late Chief Tony Anineh, has solicited the support of Edo Central senatorial district for his political ambition.

He told City Express News in his Abuja office on Wednesday that Edo central senatorial district need a good leader that will bring development and wealth to Edo State. He remarked that his senatorial district have influential political leaders that will contribute their quotas because of him.

The PDP candidate said, he needs the support of every Esan sons and daughters to vote for him, not just PDP alone, other parties can as well vote for him for the greater Esan land.

Profile of DR. (ARC.) MIKE ONOLEMEMEN CON.

Dr. (Arc.) Mike Onolememen was born in Uromi, Edo State on 4th September, 1965. He had his early education at the Saint Anthony Primary School, Uromi, Annunciation Catholic College, Irrua, and Kings College, Lagos. A Chartered Architect and Professional Manager, he holds the Bachelors of Science degree in Architecture, Master of Science degree in Architecture, and Master of Science degree in Construction Management from the Bendel State University, University of Nigeria and University of Lagos respectively.

Dr. (Arc.) Mike Onolememen is a scholar-practitioner, who holds Ph.D. degree in Public Policy & Administration of the Walden University, Minneapolis, MN, United States of America. He is also a graduate of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects [FNIA], as well as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management [FNIM]. He has been honoured by several professional bodies in Nigeria as Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (FNIS); Fellow of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (FNMGS); Fellow of the Academy of Entrepreneurial Studies (FAES); Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS) and Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).In 2000, he served as Executive Member, Interim Management Committee of the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF) and was in charge of the Directorate of Projects Management. In that capacity, he had responsibility for the management and supervision of the National Health & Educational Institutions Rehabilitation Programme, the Armed Forces & Police PTF, Consultancy Services and Special Projects such as the Dredging of the River Niger, the Bulk Power Supply Programme and the Rehabilitation of Railway Infrastructure, among others.In January 2007, Dr. (Arc.) Mike Onolememen was appointed Minister of State for Defence and served up to the end of the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s Presidency in May 2007. In the brief but memorable tenure, he supervised the Nigerian Air Force, and the affordable Housing Scheme of the Nigerian Armed Forces; He was Chairman, Board of Directors of Defence Health Maintenance Limited, and supervised military training institutions such as Armed Forces Staff College, Nigerian Defence Academy, National War College, among others. From July 2011 to May 2015, Dr. (Arc.) Mike Onolememen served as Minister of Works of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he carried out various strategic reforms in line with the transformation agenda of the President Jonathan’s administration. His tenure witnessed the massive development of the Federal Road Network, growing the stock of good federal roads in Nigeria from 4,500Km in 2011 to 25,000Km in 2015. He embarked on the dualisation of many federal arterial roads across the country and commenced the construction of two main bridges across the two great Rivers that define our country: The new Bridge across River Benue in Loko and Oweto in Nasarawa and Benue States, and the Second River Niger Bridge in Onitsha and Asaba in Anambra and Delta States. He also championed the road sector policy issues at the Federal Executive Council, and was a Member of the National Economic Management Team, a think-tank team of the President Jonathan’s administration. Dr. (Arc.) Mike Onolememen also served as the Chairman, Project Steering Committee of the ECOWAS Regional Highway project (Lagos-Abidjan-Dakar Corridor) constituted by the Presidents and Heads of Government of West African Countries, from 2012 to 2015. He led the Federal Government delegations to some major international conferences/seminars, including:
