Uzodimma does not deserve CRAN award.

The Crimes Reporters Association of Nigeria, CRAN Lagos chapter recently honoured Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma with an award for fighting insecurity. As a veteran crime reporter and Defense Affairs correspondent for over three (3) decades, I disagreed such a prestigious award of honour given to Imo State Governor, who has failed woefully. That award is fake; I am bold to be corrected.Those Journalists who recommended Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma must be investigated for compromise.

Up till this moment Imo State is still boiling with senseless killings, kidnapping, assassination and burning of INEC offices. What an Irony of award to the wrong person. A Governor who does not sleep in his home but unknown hotels and Abuja. I am not surprised for him not attending the awards ceremony held on 24th November, 2022 at the Providence Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. He was represented because he knew that he does not deserve such an award for a weakling Governor like himself. IPOB and the military has turn Imo state to a battle war ground, Imo state is not secure to hold an elections in 2023. If Nigeria is a civilize country, Governor Hope Uzodimma supposed to be quizzed and start answering questions from (DSS) Department of State Security, Nigeria military intelligent and Nigeria police force for insecurity in Imo state. Imo State is worst than Ukraine war with Soviet Union. The award of honour that was given to Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma read “due to your doggedness in fighting insecurity to a standstill, in Imo state.”

“The commissioner for information, Hon Declan Emelumba represented his Governor to receive the award. What a shame to the Governor, who has done nothing to secure his state. In my Thirty five (35) in journalism I have interviewed Eight (8) president of countries, late president Nelson Mandela, Ghanian late president, Jerry Rawlings and several others. These were distinguished men of honour, what is the legacy of Uzodimma, I don’t know, to me he did not deserve the honour.
