Osun state new police Commissioner CP Longe vows to deal with criminals, political thugs and armed robbers.

Osun State Police Commissioner, CP Francis Kehinde Longe, has sent a strong signal warning to armed robbers, political thugs and criminals in the state to depart immediately.

The newly posted commissioner of police CP Longe, made this known to City Express News in an Exclusive interview during the week at Osun State Police command.

Super Cop Longe has lamented the over-reliance on physical security to enforce peace on the Osun State and called for investment in identifying the root causes of insecurity in the state.

“I am here in Osun State to wipe out armed robbery, kidnapping and political hooliganism in the state. He said, too often we invest in physical security but that creates more enmity and stress, we should invest more time in political security, physical security subordinates us and brings the worst out of us instead of the best”.

“Osun state police command wishes to remind robbers, criminals and political parties and their followers in state, that the ban on criminality, political thuggery, use of weapons such as cutlasses, sticks, bow and arrows, guns, machetes, jack knives, Ak 47 dangerous weapons are not allowed in Osun State.”

CP Longe warned that policep will not give breathing space to unscrupulous humans who may intend to use available opportunity of court judgment between Governor Ademola Adeleke and former Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

“I am here to dealt with the criminals and keep them away from the street of Osun State”. CP Longe enjoined parties, stakeholders to warn their followers to be at peace with one and another. They must be on their best behaviors and respect the rules governing the state, refraining from acts of violence in the state.

As for the armed robbers they should quit from Osun State and never returned back. Any robber will face the wrath of the law. While reassuring the good people of Osun of securing the state as never before, CP Longe restated the resolve of the command to work in synergy with relevant actors in the security across the state, the Military, Department of State Security (DSS), Nigeria security Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and local vigilante.

According to CP Longe, he does not take the word impossible and that one does not exist in his register, as a law enforcement officer, according to rugged and dogged outspoken and outstanding police officer, Longe is a man whose name commands reverence from his subordinates but also respect from his superiors as a result of his dedication to duty.

“My big thanks goes to inspector general of police IGP Alkali Usman Baba for believing in me”, I did not apply to come to Osun State as a Commissioner of Police, but my boss IGP find me worthy for such posting, he said.
