Ifeanyi Chukwunoso becomes new SON DG

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has terminated the appointment of  Mallam Farouk Salim as Director  General of the standard organisation of Nigeria (SON).

A press statement by the special Adviser to the president on Media publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke has been appointed to replace Mallam Salim as the new Director General of the Agency.

According to the statement the appointment of Ifeanyi and other newly appointed head of Agencies and Parastatals under the Federal Ministry of industry, Trade and investment was in line with the president’s resolve to base Nigeria’s economic revival on the Foundation of trade expansion through small, medium and large scale industry Facilitation in the country.

Standard organisation of Nigeria is the main statutory body responsible for standardising and regulating the quality of all products in Nigeria.
